Identification requirements

Once you’ve applied for an account, we need to make a few checks regarding your application. These are not credit checks - we simply do them to identify you and where you live.

If we are unable to verify your details automatically, we may get in touch and ask for further information.

Documents we may need to see

If you have been asked to send us documents to confirm who you are, you will need to send us one (1) proof of identity AND one (1) proof of address from the list below. Please note that your driver’s licence can only be used as either proof of address OR proof of identity, not both. All documentation can be emailed to us at account.openings@cardonemoney.com.

Proof of identity

Please send us a copy of your original document for one of the below.

  • Valid passport
  • Valid UK photocard driving licence (full or provisional)
  • Valid firearms certificate or shotgun licence
  • National identity card
  • Certified copy of birth certificate

Proof of address

Please send us a copy or the original document for one of the below. Bills, letters, statements and agreements must be dated within the last 3 months.

  • Utility bill
  • Bank statement
  • Council tax statement, bill or demand letter
  • Credit card statement
  • Valid UK photocard driving licence (full or provisional)
  • Department of Work and Pensions letters
  • Solicitor letter confirming the purchase of a property
  • Rental agreement
  • Confirmation from a university of attendance or residence
  • British Forces Postal Overseas (BFPO), a letter from the commanding officer confirming residence
  • NHS staff residing onsite, a letter from Human Resources confirming residence
